Cyclone Aila that hit Bangladesh

From the Desk of GIFFB/ROBOGW:

As you already know that the cyclone Aila slammed into Kolkata, WestBangal and different parts of Bangladesh, Khulna , Bagerhat, shatkhira, Mongla, Jessore, Barishal ,Barguna, Pirojpur, Bhula, Chittagong ( Cox` bazaar), Noakhali , Laxmi pur, chandpur, farid Pur, Feni which left with 20 dead bodies ( around 20 people so far) , and 1000 were missing from coastal affected area ( source NTVCha/nnel I/Daily Star/Ittefaque/New Age) . Before it starts the authority of Bangladesh evacuated around over 100000 peoples and put them in the cyclone shelters. Once the cyclone storm hits, the brackish tidal water surged up to 6-13 fits and over flawed the levees of coastal area that resulted over flooding of water in the low land of coastal areas. Most of the affected areas are underneath of the water which washed off many domestic animals, trees, foodcrops that stand on the farmlands and damages many houses, buildings, roads high ways, poultry, fisheries. As reported that Govt. of Bangladesh has sent medical team and relief aid/Naval staffs to rescue the victims as well as to help the cyclone victims. The aftermath of this cyclone will bring many worse measures like diarrhea/cholera/dysentery and many other waterborne diseases that could lead the disruption of the social and business life. On behalf of GIFFB (Global Initiatives for Flood Free Bangladesh http://giffb.blogspot.com) and ROBOGW (Role of Bangladesh on Global Warming http://robogw.blogspot.com) we are urging Bangladesh Govt. to reinstate the regular and normal life by taking prompt initiative providing emergency funds to the local authorities to build the infrastructure. Otherwise it will slowdown the economic growth and other progressive activities around the affected area that may have significant impact on the overall growth of Bangladesh. We also asking Bangladeshi private sectors, NGOs and other individuals to stand by the cyclone affected people and help them to over come this problem. Right now the cyclone victim’s people desperately need moral support, shelter, pure food, drinking water and clothes. Especially medial care is very important to stop spreading water borne diseases among people specially the kids in the affected area.
Please come forward and help them by any means!
